I grew having split parents since I was around the age of one. I have 2 younger siblings and a step sister on my mom’s side and I am the only child on my dad’s side. My step sister Brianna is 21 years old, my little sister Alexis is 16, and my little brother Leland is 12 years old. I am starting my new job at Bed Bath and Beyond this week and finishing up at my other job this week at Huhot. I will pick up shifts at Huhot if needed as some extra hours on the side. I plan on completing my generals here at RCTC and then transferring to Winona State University when done. And that’s just a little introduction about myself.
Blog Set Up
Well setting up this blog was a little difficult for me because I wasn’t here in 1117, when I got here for 0960 we did the same thing. I didn’t know any of the instructions so I had a classmate help me out a bit. I struggled at first but after playing on the blogging website I started to figure out different things too do on the website. The way things are grouped and set up on the blog page that I picked too use is a bit confusing but it will just take sometime since I have never blogged before like some people may have.
License
The license I picked is Copyright. I chose copy right as my license for my blog because it gives me more of a privacy and a feeling that my information is more confidential. Knowing that with the Copyright license if anyone would like too use my information they have too ask for my permission. I know that using Copyright 100% going too keep all my information too myself but it will keep most of it and having too give permission for it.
Why Work?
“Work for a cause, not for applause. Live life to express not too impress. Don’t strive to make your presence noticed, just make your absence felt. (Unknown)” People work for lots of different reasons; here are three reasons why. First, working full time at any job will offer benefits. Different jobs and companies will offer a variety of benefits, these benefits may be based on the type of position you hold at that job. Another reason to work is that you get paid, except for a few. Different companies or jobs vary pay wages as in hourly or salary. In addition, people work because it is something to do. Some people work for the fun of it, other do it because they need the benefits that come out of work. You also need to work because the money you make is needed for your everyday life. “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. (Steve Jobs)”
Full time working and the benefits for working that full time at most jobs. Standard full-time employment is 40 hours a week. Generally, working over 40 hours is considered overtime and is typically time and a half or double the hourly pay. You will also receive different insurance benefits. Some of these benefits include Health, Dental, and Vision. Employers will commonly provide these types of insurance benefits; more uncommon will they provide pension plans and paid vacations. As employed, one could request to have a retirement plan to have money set aside for retirement in the future. Also provided are time paid off and educational benefits for schooling. So, the outcomes of working make working full time worth it.
There are many options for work in the world. Agriculture is a department of a variety of jobs that deals with foods and natural resources. This also includes farming and research. Another department for careers is construction and is huge here in Minnesota. Arts, technology Businesses, education etc. There are so many different career options out there to work. One could work 3 careers and still seek another before they retire.
People get paid hourly or get paid salary. Pay varies depending on the job, or the type of position you have through the employer. Getting paid for working is an exchange of time for materialistic wealth. One could buy a car for transportation, or anything a car is used for. You may also use your money for the stupid things you want to buy for yourself, friends, or your family. The more money you make the littler things you can buy or the more expensive things you can also buy.
With everything that benefits from why working it a part of today’s society. Well the three main reasons are what I have just explained. All the benefits in working and the outcomes. There are also so many different career options out there and getting paid too work in your spare time. working is a huge thing today and in fact that’s all it really is. “You will work long days, early mornings, and late nights. You will have many associates, but few to no friends. You will experience doubt, pain, confusion, and failure. You will be single unless he or she understands your passion. You will be given props for your hard work. People will want you to do good, but never better than them. For what you will do many things alone. (Marie Blanchard)”, but trust me it is worth it.
